Flowers and plants seen a little differently—through light, shadow, shape, and texture. I am drawn to the character I find in them, from a flower just beginning to open to one beginning to fade. These photographs are less about identifying the plant and more about seeing the beauty and personality I find within it.

This is the Myrtle Spurge as the bloom starts to fade. The flowers are no longer at their freshest, but the changing shapes and textures have a beauty of their own. I was drawn to what happens to the flower as it moves from full bloom toward the next stage of its life.
