About

untitled-_December21

A pursuit of light enhances all of Barbara’s black and white work. From the subject she chooses to the setting on her camera, everything is designed to enhance the light of the scene. Her purposeful processing of the photo endeavors to identify the light, then she uses that light to draw the viewer's attention to her subject.

Whether she is shooting grand landscapes, intimate landscapes, plants, or people, her focus is always on how the light interacts with these subjects.

Her first exhibition was at the San Diego County Fair. At the Fair, she won several awards for her art. The Orange County Fair also saw her win awards. She has since been shown and won awards at several galleries, such as Carlsbad Oceanside Art League, Front Porch Gallery, Oceanside Museum of Art, the Ashton Gallery, Yavapai College Gallery, and Sedona Art Center. She has also won awards through affiliations with a camera club and Southern California Association of Camera Clubs. Her enthusiasm has also brought her to exhibit at Sedona Visual Arts Coalition’s, Open Studios, and Made in Clarkdale.

She has been published in several of LensWork Publishing's publications. She continues to explore new subjects for her black and white photography and discover new avenues to share her art.
