Flowers and plants seen a little differently—through light, shadow, shape, and texture. I am drawn to the character I find in them, from a flower just beginning to open to one beginning to fade. These photographs are less about identifying the plant and more about seeing the beauty and personality I find within it.

The Myrtle Spurge before it blooms is not the normal look for a flower opening, but little is common in this beautiful and unusual plant. The repetitive pattern of the developing buds pulls me into the photograph and makes me want to look more closely at what is about to bloom.
