Flowers & Plants Flowers and plants seen a little differently—through light, shadow, shape, and texture. I am drawn to the character I find in them, from a flower just beginning to open to one beginning to fade. These photographs are less about identifying the plant and more about seeing the beauty and personality I find within it.
This cactus flower looks to me like a wonderful pattern for a quilt. The light shines through the repeating pattern of the plant while the dark areas hold the design together. The more closely I look, the more the natural shapes and textures become a pattern of their own.
