Flowers and plants seen a little differently—through light, shadow, shape, and texture. I am drawn to the character I find in them, from a flower just beginning to open to one beginning to fade. These photographs are less about identifying the plant and more about seeing the beauty and personality I find within it.

It takes so much for a desert cactus to survive, yet in spring it blossoms into beautiful flowers. This photograph captures that remarkable combination of the rough cactus and its delicate bloom.
