Seeing Differently
Familiar things can look very different when we stop and really look at them. A plant becomes curves and patterns, water becomes light and movement, and weathered wood reveals textures shaped by time. These photographs began with something I recognized, but I was drawn to what I saw when I looked closer. I invite you to look again and see what you may have missed before.

The two leaves of this agave were just emerging and had not yet completely opened. Somehow they came together and touched, almost as though they were reaching out to each other. That small moment between the leaves was what caught my attention and gave the photograph its name.
