Seeing Differently Familiar things can look very different when we stop and really look at them. A plant becomes curves and patterns, water becomes light and movement, and weathered wood reveals textures shaped by time. These photographs began with something I recognized, but I was drawn to what I saw when I looked closer. I invite you to look again and see what you may have missed before.
I was drawn to the tall center of this plant. It made the whole photograph look as though the plant were standing at attention, showing off its leaves. The recognizable plant became secondary to the strong vertical shape and personality I saw in it.
