Seeing Differently
Familiar things can look very different when we stop and really look at them. A plant becomes curves and patterns, water becomes light and movement, and weathered wood reveals textures shaped by time. These photographs began with something I recognized, but I was drawn to what I saw when I looked closer. I invite you to look again and see what you may have missed before.

The fourth corral post reveals another arrangement of textures, knots, and patterns created by years of exposure to the elements. I like the way the close-up view removes the obvious identity of the old post and lets the texture and light become the subject. It is another example of something ordinary becoming interesting when you stop and really look.
