Seeing Differently
Familiar things can look very different when we stop and really look at them. A plant becomes curves and patterns, water becomes light and movement, and weathered wood reveals textures shaped by time. These photographs began with something I recognized, but I was drawn to what I saw when I looked closer. I invite you to look again and see what you may have missed before.

These four photographs were taken of different posts in a corral beside the road. The weather and years spent outside had left each post covered with intricate evidence of time and wear. I was drawn to the textures, the patterns, and the light and dark sections that appeared in the old wood. What might normally be overlooked became a collection of fascinating details.
