Seeing Differently Familiar things can look very different when we stop and really look at them. A plant becomes curves and patterns, water becomes light and movement, and weathered wood reveals textures shaped by time. These photographs began with something I recognized, but I was drawn to what I saw when I looked closer. I invite you to look again and see what you may have missed before.
This agave plant caught my eye because of what was happening in its center. It looked like new life was beginning, with one leaf holding and protecting it until it was ready to move out on its own. I saw something almost familiar in that relationship—a new part of the plant being protected until it could become independent.
