Seeing Differently
Familiar things can look very different when we stop and really look at them. A plant becomes curves and patterns, water becomes light and movement, and weathered wood reveals textures shaped by time. These photographs began with something I recognized, but I was drawn to what I saw when I looked closer. I invite you to look again and see what you may have missed before.

This photograph was taken in the evening, when the light brought out all the twists and turns in the plant. This is only one section of a very large plant, but those ripples and undulations continued throughout it. I was fascinated by the movement and pattern that appeared when the evening light revealed the plant's unusual surface.
