Seeing Differently
Familiar things can look very different when we stop and really look at them. A plant becomes curves and patterns, water becomes light and movement, and weathered wood reveals textures shaped by time. These photographs began with something I recognized, but I was drawn to what I saw when I looked closer. I invite you to look again and see what you may have missed before.

I love the Verde River because it is always changing, giving me a constant opportunity to capture something new—something that has never existed before and will never exist in exactly the same way again. In this photograph, the sunlight hitting the ripples made the water look illuminated. The river became light, movement, and a moment that could not be repeated.
